Someone had mentioned and recommended a photo editor. I believe it was freeware. Anyone feel free to chime in with ones they recommend.

I've been using Davinci Resolve 16.x from BlackMagicDesigns.com There is a free version with almost all the features of the paid studio version. It's very powerful.

DaVinci is a video editor. It doesn’t work on photos.

For photos, Lightroom is hard to beat as it keeps a catalog as well as very powerful image adjusting tools. Affinity Photo is also good, but without the cataloging feature.

The program I was looking for was called “Darktable” thanks to everyone for chiming in.
