I have the opportunity to do flying for a real estate agency taking photos/video for properties to be shown. What would be the best editor to use putting a sales video together with that would not break the bank? I would also need to add some background music to the finish product.

There are lots of good editors available. You can find a list of commonly used editors here.

It depends. What level of editing are you trying to do? If you are doing composites, for example, you will need something like Photoshop. If you're doing general cleanup, cropping, image tonal adjustments, etc., Lightroom is great for photos .
