Photos taken when SD card removed.

I took a few photos (nothing important) with the microSD card removed from the Mavic. I expected that since the photos were normally copied to the phone (albeit in lower resolution), that they would be there even when the SD card was not installed. I was fortunate to learn (when the photos were not critical) that no photos were transferred to the phone. But in this case, why does the shutter release even "click"?

What you normally see recorded on the phone is effectively a screen recording of the device not anything to do with what is stored on the SD card.

Not sure but I think you can turn on in settings to record to phone if no SD card and was implemented a few versions ago.

4wd: A "screen recording" I would think would be recorded to my Photos Gallery.

You may be thinking about sound recording, not photo/video.
