It looks like the current regime is putting national security on the back burner with regard to China and technology so long as the company is willing to give the regime a cut.This could be the simple answer for DJI. A cut of 15% to the regime could grease the wheels and DJI is back in business.

Folks are already paying more than 15% above retail for units from S. Korea and elsewhere. And then they don't get a warranty. Why not just pay a bribe up front and be able to purchase Care Refresh and receive warranty service?

True. But a couple of months ago, they said that selling the most powerful AI chips to China was a no-go. Yet a bribe is paid, and now it's acceptable.

Up until the regime took over in January, Tik Tok was to be banned with bi-partisan support and confirmation from the Supreme Court. Likely, a back-room deal was made, and that ban has fallen by the wayside.

I have lived in the U.S. my entire life I even worked as a soldier in the US Army. I have never seen a "regime" Elected to power in this country. The people you are after are the Anti-Drone effort and their army of lobbyists.
The biggest problem with this whole deal I.M.O. is :
While it is true that china should pay us more in tariffs to import their goods, Our elected president wants all the money NOW. Instead of using a reasonable and a sensible way for China and Companies in China to pay it !

Again, Agree, Until now. My reason for saying that is until now, it was extremely rare for US federal workers, including law enforcement and military, to have to ignore their oath to the constitution in order to follow the orders of their superiors. Before now, when did you see federal law enforcement, not in an under cover setting, wearing masks and not willing to identify themselves? But that is another story.

I recently watched a tour of a Toyota factory in Texas. All of the manufacturing prowess that elevated Toyota to it's position in the world was on display...in Texas, with a US workforce. The solution to helping the US improve it's ability to get back to high level manufacturing par with China and others would seem to be by enticing them to bring that manufacturing experience here and sharing it with us. In fact; that is the strategy that China has been using for like 50 years now. And it has worked out well for them.
