PSA- Apache 3800 case on sale $29!

Once again the Apache 3800 is on sale at Harbor Freight tools for $29. It has pick-n-pluck foam but if you're crafty you can get different foam and customize it for whatever you like. It's a great size for something like the Mavic 2. I can personally attest that the quality of these cases is very very close to the Pelican brand and the only thing (IMO) opinion that makes Pelican superior is that it has a better pressure valve design. I have a couple of these that I use for various purposes and my Mini 2 and accessories get toted in the smaller Apache 2800.

Sometimes you can get lucky with a sale on another case with the cutouts already there and use the insert. I bought a semi-hard case for my M2 which cost me $17. The insert is removable and goes nicely in the 3800 if I ever need a hard case for travel. And for just shlepping around the area, the semi- hard case works fine. With some creative foam cutting I was able to get my M2 and Mini 1 in a 3800. However when the Mini 2 over-sized controller came out, I would have had to reconfigure the entire case.

I have managed to fit my iPad holder using one of the battery holes I put in there. It’s kind of a mess but it gets it done. If I’m hiking, I just use the original case it came in.
