So you are suggesting that the RC Pro 2 is capable of OS3 and OS 3+?Yes it does now. They added a firmware update so some older models work with the RC Pro 2
Exactly! Those are all OS 4 or OS4+. No OS 3 or OS3+ drones like the Mavic 3 series are supported, not can they be!Just Mavic 4 Pro, Air 3S, Air 3, and Mini 4 Pro for now.
I apologize for the misunderstanding. I misspoke. I meant that the firmware update was for the air 3s. I meant that the RC Pro 2 works with some older models that came out before the release of the RC pro 2 & the Mavic 4 Pro initial release. That's what I meant by older models. But obviously they must have OS4.
No problem. It would have been terrific if it had been true regarding the Mavic 3 series, but, alas, OS3 and OS4 are incompatible with each other. I am just happy that it can also be used with my Air 3s and Mini 4 Pro, as with the Mini 4 Pro, no RID using the regular batteries, so you can fly discreetly without broadcasting your location, and no registration requirement either. Great for travel.I apologize for the misunderstanding. I misspoke. I meant that the firmware update was for the air 3s. I think I was just doing 2 things at once and thinking about 5 things at the same time. I had a several tabs open and replied to the wrong window or something. When I intended to reply to somewhere else about a similar subject.
DJI writes their own wireless protocol for Ocusync. OS is deeply integrated into the hardware. It's a combination of different chipsets and modems on the drone itself and the controller which are unique to each Ocusync version. Therefore it would be pretty difficult to have backwards compatibility between models with different Ocusync versions. It's way more involved than just what firmware updates are able to do. Firmware updates are just directions for the hardware.
