Do your research as to your surroundings, make sure its a safe place to fly, I was in the country, visiting friends; Had a lot of open space, put choose to launch between two metal building. RTH, set, GPS, did every thing, but the Bird took off and just kept on going up not responding to controls. Tried three times and same thing happened, only thing it allowed me to do was bring it down manually. When I moved away from the buildings no problems. !00% difference in response.

After this experience, be more careful. I felt moments of anxiety and fear.

I had similar situation.

I started to land with marginal battery.
It reached the critical level and entered into RTH.

I even cached it by hand and it refused to shut down motors.

The only way to turn off the motors was either to turn upside down the bird (which could cut my hand..) or to press the RTH icon and confirm it with the slider.

You could also swipe the screen to the left and set Home Point automatically. That's what I've been doing.
