REMOTE ID IN MAVIC 2 PRO

In terms of the M2P and RID, I'll be doing the "RID Module" as opposed to waiting on the "Promised FW Upgrade". This would leave many of us operating illegally from Sept - Dec (assuming it really happens in Dec) which isn't a viable option. Also, the FW version I have on my M2P is kind of "modified" and I'm not willing to lose those functions.

I assume you mean your "modified" FW version allows your M2P to fly autonomous waypoint missions beyond range of the controller? I do that now with my M2Z flying waypoint missions with Litchi and Maven out to 3 mile range and that little birdie could care less if it's connected to the controller :p

Umm NOPE! I have no need to fly autonomous waypoint missions beyond the range of the controller plus that's not even remotely following any of the existing UAS rules in the USA (and WVA) hobby or Part 107.

I operate in some areas where the DJI Software doesn't want to "easily" give authorization even though I have full approval from the FAA. My birds don't acknowledge any DJI limitations, as it should be for an experienced and professional operation.

I'm studying for the Part 107 exam and just learned that starting in September this year, the FAA will require all drones to have the Remote ID feature built in. I just emailed DJI, but does anyone know if the Mavic 2 Pro has the Remote ID feature? I bought mine in May of 2021. Thanks for your time reading this. Nox Vidmate VLC
I wouldn't worry I'm pretty sure it will only require some sort of update (hopefully) Thank god I use my Air2s more than the others If they don't update I will be in the same line to purchase a module but pretty sure I won't have too

you can find the FAA list here.

Unfortunately I bought it off Facebook marketplace so that won't be an option.

I didn't know about the remote ID rule before I bought it
I didn't purchase a drone yet, but considered the 2 Pro/Zoom because it has on board waypoints vs virtual stick control. But now this issue has come to light, I have to hold off and remain on the fence.

Very frustrated with all these gotchas.

Remote ID compliance postponed by the FAA until March 16, 2024. Now DJI has to step up with the firmware update.
To be more precise, it is more like delayed enforcement. But yeah, it's a distinction without a difference (for some). DJI should have plenty of time to comply with their promised December delivery dates.
