Replace M2P Standard Controller Battery Pinout

The M2P Standard Controller battery has 8 wires: 3 red, 3 black, 1 yellow, 1 white. Does anyone have the pinout to know which of the red and black are required? I have a replacement battery that only has 2 red, 2 black, 1 yellow, 1 white. It seems unlikely that the controller would truly need 3 pos/neg pins so hoping I can just insert the new battery leads into the correct slots on the 8 pin connector.

Oh thank you but no. My bad, I should have clarified; this is for the mini connectors inside the controller where the battery connects to the PCB.

The number difference would be two cell verses three cell, would it not?
