Safe battery storage for cross country move?

make sure they are at around 40 to 50% charged ,then wrap them in bubble wrap to protect them from damage, and finally pack them in a secure box with more bubble wrap to stop them moving around during transit,you could use the Lipo bag you described ,if you like instead of a box ,but you would still need to wrap them so they cant move about in the bag

Just treat like you're flying, keep in 'cabin' . . . car, truck, whatever.
I would definitely try and keep them cool, and out of the sun and high temps.

Wouldn't hurt to have them around 50% SOC, and / or in lipo bags, but really not necessary . . . maybe just a bit of peace of mind.
They will possibly be auto discharged anyway.

I keep them in Lipo bags, and also store them in a military .50 cal ammo can. Don't know if that's an overkill, but it's relieved the worry a bit. I'm a full time RV'er and fire is always a concern in these rigs, they burn fast and hot. Good luck and safe travels.
