My son and I spent 12/15 making that video. The next night, we decided to get some skyline shots of the Financial District. High winds, lots of magnetic interference. While trying to land, my Mavic suddenly went nuts and landed atop the old Hills Bros building, now occupied by Google. Since this was Saturday night, my bird spent the weekend on that roof. I delayed my flight back to Texas by a day so I could visit Google Monday morning.
The Google people were most courteous and helpful. They immediately searched the areas of the roof they could reach, spotting my bird on a part of the roof they had no access to. Tuesday morning we got a call from Google saying that their engineer, using a ladder, had recovered my Mavic, which would be held for us at the front desk.
I'll be more careful in the future, and I'll be a Google customer for life.
