Smaller Battery for Mavic 3 Pro?

Is DJI going to make or making a smaller, lighter battery for the Mavic 3 Pro drones?

I believe it could make them light enough to fly in more countries.

That's not true. The Mavic 3 Pro weighs 958g.
The EU compliant Mavic 3 weighs 895g.
899g is the limit for comparable EU compliance.
The battery only needs to shed 59g.
Mavic 3 battery currently weighs 336g.
Shaving 59g off the 336g battery weight is only a 18% change in weight to make it EU compliant at 899g.
The extra 63g of weight of the Mavic 3 Pro over the Mavic 3 only reduced the flight time by 3 minutes from 46 minutes to 43 minutes, using the same battery.

Assuming generously that the current 43 minute flight time would be reduced by some 25% by a 17% reduction in battery weight (the battery shell weight remains constant, so the reduction has to be in the battery mAh inside) to 32 minutes, it would also gain back the 3 minutes of lost flight time compared to the Mavic 3, as they now weigh the same (within 4g).

That's 32 minutes + 3 minutes = 35 minute flight time for an EU compliant battery.

The 8 minute reduction in the 43 minute flight time to 35 minutes would not lead to complaints about flight time, if it gained EU compliance.

Those who care that much about the 8 minute loss in flight time either already are certified, or will get certified in the EU to fly the current 958g Mavic 3 Pro.

DJI has already has a history of making different batteries in the exact same form factor to comply with different international requirements for exemptions.

1. DJI made a reduced power Mini 2 battery for China that shaved 49g off the 249g Mini 2 weight to comply with China's lower 200g exempt drone limit.

2. DJI made a noncompliant Plus battery for the Mini 3 Pro that increased flight time from 34 to 47 minutes by adding 41g more weight in the battery, making the total weight 290g. The standard battery has a capacity of 2453 mAh whereas the extended battery has a capacity of 3850 mAh. The Plus battery weighs 121g which is 41g more than the standard battery of 80g.

Consider the current stock Mavic 3 battery that is sold with the Mavic 3 Pro as a Plus battery.

DJI can clearly easily make a Standard battery for the Mavic 3 Pro for the EU weighing only 18% less without significantly sacrificing flight time.

The only issue is whether DJI would sell enough more Mavic 3 Pro units to the EU with a compliant lower weight battery to justify making the lower capacity battery.

Jury is still out on that one.

It doesn't help to get a smaller battery to save weight as the weight is based out from what the drone is registered with from the factory and what C-number the drone have printed on the drone.

So if the drone is registered as an C2 drone as the Mavic 3 Pro is, you wont be able to fly more easily under C1 just because you got a lighter battery that takes the weight under 900 gram.
