no DJI reps in here, try on official DJI forum (where is 50 topics like that and DJI doesnt care), anyways, expect new smart controller on sale soon

That's not DJI, that's some guy from YouTube that said he talked to someone. The only official thing DJI has said was in the FAQ for the Mavic Air 2 and they have never given a time frame.

Q: Is the Mavic Air 2 compatible with the Smart Controller?
A: Yes. Mavic Air 2 will be compatible with the Smart Controller through a future firmware update

No one wants this more than I do, My iphone 11 max pro plus , if it deserves to be called that. ugh in the rain and the heat has been a disaster.

I think the next update will have the Smart Controller fix, and it it does not than we can be a little disappointed.
But I do feel your pain .

Once the update comes, we can hope that SC will be useful for both Dji GO4 and Dji Fly app. In this way, it will be useful for those who have several different drones. A wishful thinking is whether SC can be linked to the original control for double command. A pilot and a photographer ?

I’m really upset about this as well.
I simply do not want to use my phone to fly a drone. ?
DJI really let me down.
