Some of you may have seen my earlier posts where I use my Mavic Air to scout out gold potential areas in wilderness areas of Canada. Its small enough to carry with my pans, shovel and prybar, pick, tools, suction pipe, first aid kit, food, buckets etc, a ton of gear. So I dont want any additional fuss. Well this trip was lots of fun, crazy slippery moss covered cliffs (but the MA let me drop below it to scout for traps and bars, and look for access, there wasnt any!) Also, it was raining, started as fog, into drizzle, into rain. I wanted to get a closing shot so ended up flying it in the rain without any issues. My partner and I are looking for bedrock cracks at right angles to the flood direction of the river and the Air saved us a lot of time in finding them. Most of the flying is at the start and middle of the video, its more for gold panning nerds like me, but you may enjoy it anyway if you’ve never tried it. And the Mavic Air did a SUPERB job of flying in feisty low satellite canyons and light rain.
