Footage for this video was shot in the Crowsnest Pass, AB and Bull River, BC using a Mavic 3 and an iFlight Chimera 7 Pro. I took a lot of risks in order to obtain close-up detail of the falls but I think the risk was worth while. The FPV footage came with it's own set of challenges as you will see below...
A warm day, it was not. Windy as all get out, even though it was forecasted for balmy weather and a light breeze. Up at 5:00am in order to reach my mountain of choice before dawn. A new location full of promise for an epic flight. My truck had other plans...
Scariest day of my life as I slowly backed down a treacherous incline, wheels spinning with truck losing its grip on the narrow icy track. I looked over the cliff edge and vowed, if I made it out alive, I'd never attempt something this stupid ever again. Still shaking from adrenaline, I donned a pair of grippy ice cleats and began hiking to the launch site. Frozen fingers gripped the control sticks. The biting cold tugging at me, urging me to pack it all in and go home.
I'm not a quitter...
