Summit Lake is the brilliant, crystalline gem of the Capitol Hills. Folded into the northern flank of that small, forested mountain range, Summit Lake is home to salmon and people alike, and both depend on its clear, clean water. That water quality is dependent on the wild forests that blanket its watershed, and unfortunately that water source from which people drink and in which salmon spawn is threatened by the "Delica" timber sale.

The Washington Department of Natural Resources plans to clearcut large swaths of the largest and most vital forest bordering the lake, thus polluting its water and contributing to hotter, drier conditions that could wipe out the salmon. It would not only damage the quality of drinking water in the area, but would also make the forest more vulnerable to wildfire. Legacy forests such as this make up only 5% of DNR lands in Washington, and they should be preserved rather than cut down. Let the DNR, Commissioner Hilary Franz, and our elected representatives know that our legacy forests must be protected.

This video was filmed with several cameras and drones. Most of the aerial footage was captured with the DJI Mavic 3, while the FPV footage in the forest was filmed with the DJI FPV Drone with the GoPro Hero 10 attached. I actually had a pretty significant crash with the FPV drone while filming, but thankfully both it and the GoPro were fine aside from a bent prop which I was able to easily bend back into shape. Footage on the ground was captured with the Nikon Z9 and 14-24 f2.8 lens.

Beautifully flown & edited. It looked sensational on 4K big screen TV. Excellent soundtrack to match. Good luck with your campaign 👍🏻
