I had Tasker for a while just adjusting my screen brightness, but after I saw a post with s'one having a tiny printout of a checklist stuck to their mobile device and thought that's a good idea. I took my task to the next level...
Step 2 has already proved invaluable!

  1. Go4 runs whenever the controller starts/connects to the mobile device
  2. Tasker shows Clamp popup
  3. Waits for the latest fw check then switches to airplane mode (if a new update is available open notification bar and enable WiFi) -Hit GO FLY
  4. Clean up and check/set camera menu list (Tap to Clear)
  5. HP & Check direction (Tap to Clear)
  6. Screen brightens
Alter/adjust for your own pref;
Import
[ed] My Android is rooted which helps with airplane mode

Great idea

Just one small thing, if you have powered on the quad before removing the gimbal clamp then you may already have damaged the gimbal, that’s one thing that must be removed before powering on.

As long as your quick it should be okay.
Without that popup you would be waiting until you got to the main screen until realising.
I have done this quite a few times with the dreaded motor overload warning.
IF I do it constantly then yes it would cause damage but so far 'touch wood' it's fine.
