Especially on the M3 Cine/Pro and M4 Pro, it is very handy in the visual line of sight department during day time flight ( to me anyways ) , but only for a certain distance away home point horizontally, I wish DJI gave us the ability to toggle the light settings from constant to strobe for added visual effects.

Your Thoughts ?

At least you get to choose whether to keep the green status lights flashing while recording video. Mini 4/5 Pro users flying C0 classed drones have them turned OFF by DJI when recording video, making any flights recording video at night illegal. And because you aren’t allowed to add accessories to a classified drone, you can’t add an aftermarket strobe.

DJI probably believes these lights are status indicators and their color and flash rate conform to whatever message they intend to send to the flyer. Therefore it would be impractical to allow the pilot to control these else they lose to ability let you know when it's connected, connection lost, error message, no gps, etc. One day DJI might decide to have true built-in strobes that are different from the LED status indicator lighting but that business is already well-covered by third parties and if DJI did this, they would need to start servicing them as well. Perhaps if they come up with a way to minimize battery drain and lower the additional cost and it's a good idea especially if they created an entire user-defined customized lighting suite; however, personally I feel they haven't done with because....they don't have to, no one else has, they have no competition so why bother. Probably on their list but at the bottom.

A C1 Mini4/5Pro will keep those status lights on while recording video and while not as good as a proper strobe, they satisfy the European and UK requirements.
Before you tell me I should have bought a C1 mini drone, they don’t offer them and they no longer allow you to do a C0 to C1 upgrade which updates the firmware accordingly. Unhelpfully, they did supply the relevant stickers!
