The Bison in central Alaska make the Delta River, south of Delta Junction, their home after calving. This video was taken over a 6 day period using a drone with a telephoto lens to ensure they were never disturbed. High winds and snow made for challenging filming. Enjoy.

Akdrone, this is the way you do it…the thoughtfulness and focus on not disturbing these beautiful animals far exceeds the filming, which by the way is always spectacular coming from you.
Thanks... I really appreciate the long lens. I would not be able to do this without that tele effect. I'm sad the Mav 4 has a shorter tele but it will balance out (if we can ever buy them) by shooting 6K that we can zoom into a bit. It's interesting to see animals behavior and how close you can get. I know that ducks are spooked (yeah...I've done that in spite of my efforts) so quickly but swans hardly bat an eye. The bison simply didn't react to my drone and I really should have tried to get a bit closer but it all worked out in the end - well enough for me anyway. What I'd give for a really long lens .

thanks. I chuckle at all the time we all put into these short videos. That was 6 days of driving about 130mi each way and 6 or 7 hours of shooting each day. Less on the snowy day. All boiled down to something like 4 min. Cracks me up.

I understand. I used to feel a similar reaction to spending thousands on ski equipment and clothing, driving to a ski resort, pay mor $$ for a ticket to get to the top of the mountain, just to ski back down.
