Perhaps a wee bit foolhardy to attempt to fly such a place, but sometimes you have to push the envelope, to try things that scare you, even at risk of losing the drone.

To do any less, to back down, would be to admit defeat and that you have reached as far along your growth cycle as you are comfortable enough to traverse, and sometimes you just have to screw up your courage and go for it. This was a case of the latter!

Perhaps not the best conditions to fly, but the powerful Falls of the Braan in Autumn were just too good to miss, and despite the spray and uncertain wind shear in the gorge, it just had to be done!

A first overflight, then a test inspection, followed by a flight under the bridge and close call wth the branches (the second flight under the bridge on the video) and then another flight up the falls (the first time under the bridge) provided some interesting footage, showcasing the power of the falls in full flow, despite the spray and the camera lens getting covered in spray.

Overall, not a place to take lightly, a passerby told me they had lost their MINI3 Pro trying to fly under the bridge previously, so he was amazed my AVATA2 made it in such rough conditions...

Anyhows, enjoy the somewhat tricky and perilous flight :)

Magnificant! A brilliant display of skill and adventure!

Thnks hon, it was a wee bit tricksy, but with heart in mouth and steady resolve I managed it... Had another drone flyer come and tell me afterwards he had lost his MINI3 in the water trying to do what I had done...

Amazing video! I confess, I don't have what it takes to fly like that. I do basic photography and video of residential real estate. That's about all I have courage to do.

Thanks hon, it has taken a few years of flying into smaller and tighter spaces to gain the confidence to do that video and to attempt to fly that location, but it was something I wanted to do, so worth the effort...
Not everyone flys in the same way, nor wants to, we each fly in the way that works for us, and that is what it is all about, would be boring if we all did exactly the same things :)

Very nice, Suzanne. You took us there and immersed us in the experience and power of that river. Pretty gutsy with that Avata 2! I wouldn’t be brave enough to do that. Like your narrative says, sometimes you just gotta go for it.

Super Great Video. Have not seen you on for a bit but worth the wait.
Thanks hon, yeah, didnt have any flying for 3 weeks before we went to Scotland as weather was bad and hubby had a bad ankle too, so no walking... Had a full week in Scotland, so lots of footage captured to edit and release over the next few weeks...

Thanks hon, yeah, I think that was about as extreme a flight as I ever will do, came close to losing it on the first go, but second time worked better...

Ah, she’s back! With a bang. Super work and so watchable. My Mrs usually yawns at anything I show her but she was riveted for 2 mins 40 seconds. How on earth the Avata managed to keep a relatively clear view of the action despite spray etc I don’t know-perhaps retro fitted wipers!! Can’t wait for your next installments.

Thanks hon, the absence was due to no flying for 4 weeks after hubby hurt his ankle and the weather was pants, but I got some flying in last week on the NC500 and in Perthshire, so should have enough to share for a week or two...

Glad the video was liked, it was a bit hairy flying it, but just had to be done, although those branches were only seen at the last moment, hence the close overflight on the second flythrough on the video - which was actually my first attempt...

The rest of the videos are not quite as scary, although there were a couple more waterfalls at the Falls of Bruar that were quite epic, but no spray and a lot more room to manoeuvre

👍 as usual Suzanne. That's a heck of a lot of water coming through that narrow slot so would have been one 'interesting' flight.
Top bit of flying.
I might have made it under the bridge but could 100% guarantee that the power line would have got me 🤣
Thanks hon, appreciate the kind words... Yeah, it was quite a powerful set of falls, and yup, the powerline was nicely positioned to catch us all out, thankfully flying in as close as I was meant it wasnt too much of an obstacle for the AVATA2, an the MINI was flying a little higher :)

I cannot believe what I just saw. Amazing flying and your brave determination and skills were well rewarded by this fantastic footage. I just hope , because of all this praise, that you don;\'t keep trying to better this one and wind up losing the drone . You are a lot braver than I am. Dale

Thanks Dale, appreciate the kind words!

Not planning on getting any more extreme than this tbh, so hopefully no danger of losing a drone, although another visitor there had lost his MINI3 trying to fly it...

Excellent Flying Skills Suzanne!
Thanks hon, it was a fun spot to fly, just had to be done :)

Absolutely stunning!
Thank you kindly :)
