Today is Interplanetary Drone Day!

On July 30th, 2020 the Mars 2020 mission was launched from Earth. It consisted of a rover, and unmanned helicopter…a drone!

On April 19th, 2021 the drone Ingenuity made it’s first successful flight:

On the first anniversary of that flight, Ingenuity is still in the air, helping to scout out routes for the Perseverance rover.

well at least so far, there doesn't seem to be anyone up there ,to complain about the drone flying
which makes it a better place to fly a drone than earth

I don't suppose it is operating on DJI software since it has been operating
fine for a year.

I'm pretty sure it is being operated BVLOS and there is no spotter. Those NASA guys are going to ruin it for everybody!

I plan to celebrate my 100th birthday on Mars, and you can bet I'll be flying a drone as part of the celebration!
