I recently purchased a used-but-OK Mavic Pro Platinum that had been in some scrapes and showing scratches on the paintwork, pretty much all over. I've been trying to find some 'platinum' paint to touch-up those scratches with. I've got some vehicle paint (Ford touch-up set ... Platinum 1 775 486), that is exactly the right colour, however, it has too much metallic content. I'm wondering if anyone out there has found the right paint colours to touch-up minor crash damage on their Mavic Pro's?

You could even cover your scratches up with skins that you can buy, worth a look. I don’t know about the paint side of it, sorry.

Take your Ford color and match it (color only) using a Pantone Color Matching (or other). Then, go to an automotive paint supplier and have them mix a sample. Then carefully make a set of samples adding increasing amounts of metalflake (which they'll also have). One of the biggest problems will be buying the right metalflake. It comes with a vast range of particle sizes.

I did this for the custom mount I made for the MP2 controller. Kind of a pain but the results weren't bad. I had a friend who painted cars for a living so that made it easier. That might be another route to take. Find someone who does it for a living and ask for help. Good luck.

Thanks RFC ... It's actually the metal-flake that I don't want, as the paint I have has the right colour, but is 'metallic'. When applied to the Mavic, it shows as an area of 'sparkle'! If I could find a way to get the metal flake out of it, it would be perfect. Good suggestions though mate ... thanks for your response.
