I recently heard that the Australian government is enacting laws to ban DJI (maybe all Chinese-made drones) in Australia. How is that going to affect you?

It’s not, at least in any foreseeable future for hobbyist / commercial pilots.
Unless possibly using the drone for GOVCO work, or you fly for some GOVCO depts like Police or other agency.
