I have been having disconnected issues while on 1.4.500 through the go4app I downgraded
To 1.4.100
I'm now having stable flight
Is there a work around for the forced firmware upgrade message while flying with the latest go4app...?

There is no "forced firmware upgrade".
Just curious, has there ever been a firmware upgrade that made it so you could not fly unless you performed the upgrade?

What was the purpose? Heavier GEO Fencing?
You know when you went into Assitant 2 today and put in those parameters for height restrictions and all that? Yea well DJI figured out that we figured out how to do that and so they wanted to close that loophole by forcing an update to a newer firmware that didn’t allow you to do that. But with all things DJI software the force update mechanism had a lot of bugs and didn’t affect everyone equally.

Yes, I remember reading that if one updated past a specific firmware version then it was nearly impossible to downgrade thier firmware to an earlier version.

Just tonight while in flight trying RTH i get the "Toilet bowl" effect.... 200ft above HB
My goal
For the most part i would Like stable Flight again
I get disconect from GPS To atti mode Often Tonight GPS drop @ 2300 ft out 450 levation
and for the first time The app called out i was in a Class D Flight zone.? Last night I was in a class "B" Zone.!
The nerest Air stirip Private/ Unpaved is 3 miles away... 15000,Ft away
(not in an area were I fly)

My MP1 is advertized as a 4 mile Drone .
I have never been able to Fly Beyond 6000 ft (over water).

23 month ago I had NO Restiction...WTF.?
I want to play by the rules and fly safe ..
When they Keep changing the rules its Very flusterating.
I have tried other flight apps no issues...
I prefer Go4app
(glutin for abuse) The app it self is Fine it's the ever changing manditory Restrictions
That are hard to live with.!

.
...Any positive feedback is welcome ..thank you ....cR

it was true.!
Once you went to 1.4.500 you could not go back.!

...........Just resently they allowed to roll back in the go4app several options lowest 1.4.100
( once flew on this version it was very good ...07-2018).then i got the forced firmware upgrade.
....... and crashed hard.!

@ThunderDrone Fixed my Disconected #1 compass
and with recomendation from this board Updated my Firmware and Go4app to 1.4.500
and for a couple of weeks all was well ...
But it was not for long. it became unstable (mutiable disconnects GPS/ATTI mode & Toilet bowl effect on RTH
had enough Then a few days ago through go4app
I down graded 1.4.100 last 3 day very stable.!

Now I'm back to unstable flight.! Tonight very stressful..
I cant explain the feeling when you hit the RTH button on the remote Only to see Mavic "Toilet bowling" 200 ft above home base....
. I just don't feel like flying anymore because of the stress...cR

I’m sorry for the trouble you are having. I must stress that first of all class B is much more serious airspace then class D. If you are within 5 miles of an airport you have to call the airport and ATC before you fly there and really shouldn’t fly a drone that’s having control issues there at all. At 3 miles you are within the “This is serious” zone of an airport. The fact that you are that close and flying up to 450 feet AGL with a drone you are having trouble controlling is simply unacceptable.

I’m sorry I hate being that guy because I generally I think the rules are crazy and I’m not shy about stretching some of them but I know where I can’t do that and it sounds like you are in one of those places. I’m sorry

Until recently, I was flying my drone on firmware 1.03.0700 and Go4 4.08. I’ve only updated to newer via the tools available via dji.retrorooms and only updated the parts of the firmware that I wanted updated and the Go4 version I wanted..
The firmware update nag is as misleading as the Calibrate box next to the compass status in the Go4 app. YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT, unless it is needed. In the case of the compass, check your location and the compass state. In the case of firmware, check that you are suffering from the problem it is fixing or want the features that it offers, and don’t update straight away. Let others flight test the new code. Wait at least a couple of days/months/years and see what bugs the new firmware introduces.
By the way, you are responsible for where you fly your drone, not DJI!
