Hi all,

First post to the site but been lurking here for a few months and finally picked up a Mavic Pro in December.

I’d been looking for flyaway cover in the U.K. and saw others were struggling to find somewhere covering this. I came across ‘Country Cover Club’ which offers this as well as theft/public liability etc. It’s basically a specialist insurer for outdoor activities. So yea, thought it may be of interest to some:

From their site:
  • £12m Public Liability and £10k Personal Accident Cover Only - +£14.95
  • Up to £750 Accidental Damage, Loss & Theft, £12m PL & £10k PA - +£129.95
  • Up to £1,500 Accidental Damage, Loss & Theft, £12m PL & £10k PA - +£209.95
  • Up to £2,500 Accidental Damage, Loss & Theft, £12m PL & £10k PA - +£319.95
“Insurance covers Accidental Damage & Loss whilst in flight (including flyaways)”

Can’t pay direct debit though, but thought the cover for £750 worth would do the drone incase of flyaway/damage as you’d still have the rest of the gear. My insurer (Churchill) exclude drones altogether, even as part of my contents insurance which I find a bit bizarre seen as in the house in storage a drone is like any other insured object...?

Cheers.

Looks useful although some of the conditions are pretty stringent (quite rightly IMO). Doubt if they would payout on a flyway on an autonomous Litchi mission or if flying more than a few hundred metres away. Still, might be worth considering.

Having spoken too (or rather having been spoken over) by the director of Country Cover Club, I'm sadly not too sure (in real life terms) wither it would actually cover a drone flyaway. As they said them-self's, the insurance is all new and altogether a rather "grey" area.......... something maybe to think about. I'm not sure if any other non commercial UK insurers cover flyaway's? Does anyone know of another non commercial company that does?
