I'm a property preservation specialist. I photograph house roofs every month. My question is, will the mavic pro use waypoints and while in a waypoint mission can the drone be set to autonomously take pictures then save the mission and use it every month? And take the same pictures

I've always found if checking roofs I prefer precise manual control, rather than rely on a autonous flight.

Yes it can. I would use Google Earth to create thee mission, then import it to Litchi for your use. It will remain in the Litchi Hub, and you can modify it at any time.

Here's a link to my instructional Video. Creating A Litchi Mission Using Google Earth

I haven't used Litchi as much as some of the folks here have, but don't you still have the issue of losing gimbal control if you lose connection? Pictures still trigger, I believe even with LOS.

Yes, your Mavic can fly pre-programmed waypoint flights.
But for what you want, you'd be better off using DroneDeploy

I'm a very small business, don't really have 83 dollars a month in the budget for dronedeploy,. Was also wondering if I use litchi can I manually fly the route then save it to use again at another time

MrMavic will the Google earth way work on a android tablet?

You can save a litchi route and fly it again and again.
I have one route I've been flying around a large construction site every month for the last two years.
But Litchi isn't going to handle the photographing that you would need.
DroneDeploy is completely free to use for flying and image capture.
You only pay if you use their image processing service.

Where do I get it? From the play store?

That didn't answer my quetion. Can I manually fly the route then save it and then use it again
With Litchi, you plot the route on a screen first and then fly it.
You can make changes and save them.

Sorry as this is old post , recovered from long illness have not used Mavic for well over a year .
Bit confused about waypoints on info from internet .
I'm going to tenerife and after seeing your reply (( going to take Mavic out of hibernation )) can you confirm that the original Mavic pro can now do the waypoints offline? And can I set it to do POI at waypoint ?
What I'm saying is waypoint2 available on Mavic pro now .
I ask because internet seams to point to it only being on the mavic 2
