When did DJI start selling ads to be placed on the Fly app?

I started out several versions ago everything worked fine and now it seems like every update gives me more issues (most recently 100 ft altitude limit & put in atti mode) but now I'm being coerced to buy Adobe Premiere, Xinjiang (whatever that is) etc...wtf?
I also tried to refresh everything in DJI Assistant and get an error...so I hit report and the security hoops that have to be jumped thru (find all the cats in these teeny tiny lo res pictures) that are tighter than my online banking!
For what it's worth, I have been able to get a 40% discount on the entire Adobe Suite ( Photoshop, Lightroom After effects, Premiere Pro, PPDF etc. ) calling the Adobe number and requesting a discount. I have been able to get this for two straight years. It comes with full Adobe suport which I have used 3 times this year so far.

I was flying today at 100 feet in an authorization zone. Suddenly my screen goes black, I lose connection to the MA2 and an ad for Adobe Premiere showed up. Panic set in for a moment, and I clicked the back button furiously to get out of that. My phone flashed black again and reconnected the drone. I continued on my flight. When I landed and was able to review my flight logs, that one flight counted as two seperate flights, confirming my complete loss of control over the UAV at that moment. THIS IS DANGEROUS.

*Edit*. This is the latest version of the Fly App found on the DJI website for Android. No inputs we're done on the phone, I was in the middle of flying in a straight line recording video and concentrating on holding my sticks still.

Not happened to me and I've flown several times with Android 1.2.4 and it's 2nd update.

Are you sure it wasn't a message from your phone and not from DJI?

i honestly don't get the bitterness. You don't like Adobe I take it, that's fine. Many people find value in this, why are you so bothered by it? Just dismiss it away and continue enjoying your free software.
Because the topic was about the Adobe ads for the free trial then buy ..... Newcomers to editing can be helped with refs to other products that are perpetually free - and good. If you don’t want to help, that is your choice, of course. ?

It has nothing to do with feelings about Adobe my friend, it has everything to do with an ad popping up on a device that cost me close to $1000...I have no idea who/what Xinjiang is but an ad popped up for them too (to address other posts, I have no 3rd party anything on my phone and I get updates from DJI).
Just saying if it continues there will be a lot of pissed people, especially if it disrupts their flight.
I don't mind if DJI sends me Spam email occasionally advertising a product I might want to buy but I find it hard to believe DJI would be spamming their own device.
BTW, David is right...this "special offer" is a joke considering DaVinci Resolve is free (or $300 for pro version which is good for all future updates) and does as much or more than Premier...I tried to switch a few months ago but the tools are so different than what I've been using for decades, I could see it was too much time investment for an old dog like me.
20 years ago, it would have been a no brainer to go with DR.
Da Vinci have been running a special offer worldwide: order their new Speed Editor dedicated keyboard and you get Resolve 17 Studio licence for free. I got mine in December. Fantastic. If you check YT clips, DR is very versatile. Even old dogs could be tempted with this deal .... ???????

well, the topic is actually about ads in the Fly app, but sure... Also, what would be the point of offering a free product? You can get that yourself. Offering a 3 month trial to paid software is offering value, whether you have a huge bias against that company or not. I suppose you're retired now, based on your profile, but I assume you used to work for free since you have such disgust for products for which you have to.... pay. Imagine that...

I think you totally missed my point bud...it's not "disgust" for Adobe or the other company that popped up (Xinjiang) it's about showing ads in the app (regardless of their "value") ...email fine...app when I'm trying to fly, hell no!

Again, that reply was not for you, but for David :)

Guys the issue is that Sir Brown is having Ads coming up while running camera view. It is highly possible his phone is corrupted with a virus, as no one else is reporting this issue or even close as far as this thread anyway. The ad should as stated comes up once and only once outside the main app on flash screen which is "normal" (?)...all other discussion is moot. Let's try to focus on issue at hand and forgo the editing software that everyone is using for whatever reason. :)

At OP at minimum I would delete the app and flush cache, turn off and then power up and reload. A virus scanner may be in order if you don't have one. ;) BTW there is some chatter on the web about hackers/malware and Xinjiang...not sure if that may be related or not.

I think you are right in that I did a hyperlapse yesterday and didn't see the ad after clicking on it the 2nd time to dismiss it ...BTW I guess u didn't read all the other post bc others have indeed seen it in Fly.
I can assure u my device (Lenovo M10) does not have a virus as all I use it for is Fly, B4uFly etc (no internet browsing or even phone service to it).
It also has been verified that the 3 month trial is an offer DJI/Adobe have going.

I think you need to swipe it away to dismiss it, not tap it.

Changes things a bit, have you ever used internet with the phone though? There could be a little bug, that when you pressed (As others) to clear app you initiated and process/virus ran when it had internet...all speculation ;) I would still play it safe and delete app and clear it and reload, but your choice. :) If "ad" presents itself then swipe not push on reload.

There are no ads, there's just a notification in the Fly app (the same notification that shows up on the main screen saying new firmware available). You tap it once, it opens a browser window, close it and that's it.
I've had it come up each time I open the Fly app. I think the OP's point is why have it all? While the app may be the most advantageous place to put the ad (you may call it notice) it is not the most appropriate. Personally I don't appreciate seeing it in a supposedly commercial/ad free application.

You’re being offered a free 3 months subscription to Adobe video editing software, I think that’s hardly an ad, it’s something really useful to many people getting into the hobby
That's an ad. That's exactly what it is. It's a pitch. Adobe is doing this for one reason and one reason only: to sell product. They know people who sign up for trials are top prospects for sales and they will not stop at the one product for which you signed up. There will be additional offers as they attempt to groom you as a customer. Without passing judgment on its merits that's what it is.
