Where is Precision Landing feature??

Glad you found your own answer, so now go & try it out;)

You know, my M2P is lucky to get within 3 metres of its take off point when I initiate RTH. I think I’m doin everything right - climb to 7 metres and hover, nice bright landing mat for it to identify. I wonder if precision landing has been disabled somehow? Is this possible?

Guessing you need to do an IMU calibration and compass calibration.

It should work, I didn’t turn anything on or off, it just worked. I’ve posted my video on a couple of threads now but just to show you how accurate it is, take a look;) every time I’ve tried it it’s always landed on my pad.

Phil: Perhaps this is a stupid question, but are you getting "The homepoint has been recorded" message? I'm sure it's not a compass issue but I'm not sure about the IMU cal suggestion.

Yes, I’m getting that message. I’ve recalibrated the compass. Didn’t make any difference. I’ll do the IMU but from my understanding of its function, I don’t think that’s it.
To be honest, it doesn’t bother me all that much because it gets close to home and I usually hand catch. But it’s just kind of cool to have that neat technology working.

Whether or not you’ll ever use that feature, I would be concerned about what else is not working as designed - don’t want to find that out at the wrong time.

Remember that the precision landing is relying on several critical navigational & positional factors that are used in most all other facets of flight.

The precision part of the landing relies on a recorded image of the takeoff point (gps gets it close). The higher you go the more chance of a bit of drift so accuracy might be off a little.
It is important to take off from a recognizable, non-repeating pattern that the drone can recognize. A foldable takeoff/landing pad is ideal.

How is this image recorded? Is it the on-board camera? (The Hallselblad.) ? Does it require the gimbal to be tilted downward, so that the camera can record it?

The users manual contains similar information but where did this page come from? It’s good.

Yes, I realize that, but my question was what happens if the M2 is moved say a few feet after turning it on to do compass calibration, etc. etc.. In other words, after it has 'recorded home point' initially upon turning on - if that ends up being the case, I've always gone in to the settings to set home point manually just to be safe, but maybe not necessary?
How often are you doing compass calibration?
