Will not activate

studied the manual and the videos
Wifi connected to drone with smartphone
Proceeded thru all steps. Device name, and various specs all good.

The last item / option about 5 pages in is the incon at the bottom
Connect to server

I press (nothing happens)
The audio keeps repeating to confirm we are setting up but the dialog box does not change nor move to the next and last page

In the meantime
I've checked I have the current firmware and that I can connect the RC and how to turn it off (thanks others) quick press then longneck press. So I've got all under control except the activation ?

Just to clarify, you are trying to activate the drone for first time use correct?

Yes correct 1st time activation..
there is difference in instructions in the small manual with the package and the online videos, nonetheless I've got thru all pages
connected to device, given device a name, default modes etc., the almost last page is
option to "activate" pressing this button changes the page to "connect to server" and nothing happens .. just hangs

SUCCESS.
.. perhaps obvious but not for a newbie.. I called the local shop, suggested I should have the smart[hone connected to the RC during activation which is not clear in the manual (it suggests only the phone is required.)

for Newbies
I switched the MP (Mavic Pro) back from WIFI to RC
connected the smartphone to RC (remote control)
powered up the RC and MP and this launched the smartphone app
the activation process was same as before and this time it completed

all go - now to download the firmware update .. horah ..

and thanks to others re how to power off the RC ,.. same as Magic Pro
touch power button once and then again for 2 seconds.

Just had the same issue as everyone else activating the account. Thanks Luckyroo did what you suggested and all is good,
