Ok.. we are all waiting and wondering about the new mini 5 pro, which is pretty awesome piece of tech…. But what I wanna know is, will the batteries be inter operable like the mini 3 batteries work in the mini 4 and so on…

I bet that would push the M3P into over 1 hour of flight.. ?

I am hoping the batteries are interchangeable.

What do you guys think?

Well I would have to say probably not....Drone producers are in a race to slim down their drones and weight is a huge factor.
If anything I envision a more compact battery coming down the line. DJI loves to stuff their batteries in plastic boxes and put weird connectors on them. Its a cash grab and it helps eliminate competition. If DJI would put a standard battery plug on their Drones you would be able to purchase batteries from dozens of great manufacturers.

Neither of the Mini 3 Pro batteries work in the Mini 4 Pro if you want to avoid RID and maintain sub 250g weight to also avoid any registration requirements as a pilot. They are too heavy. You have to buy the new Mini 4 Pro regular batteries to be RID free and registration free while flying the Mini 4 Pro.

I was speaking more to the point

I was speaking more to the point of compatibility… not 250g and under..

I read on at least on website that the Mini3/4 batteries would be compatible. That was a shock. Can't confirm. Also can't buy a Mini 5. I have 9 DJI drones and I could get the 5 but it would be a tradeoff. I'd probably lose my wife...tough call...

Never been a better time to sell off some of the older DJI gear… used prices are climbing!!! Raise yer own cash and thin the heard!!!!

I go back to an early Phantom...the original Mavic Pro, the original FPV which is a hoot shooting 60mph across the sky, an Avata and Avata 2, Mini 4 Pro (sadly sold my Mini3 Pro), Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Pro, Mavic 4 Pro, and Neo. Wait! That's 10! Of course I don't use the Phantom but I got it out and the battery was still charged half way or so after 10 or more years. What?? Yep. I also don't use my FPV. Wonder why? Today I'm going to use my Mav4 Pro and Avata 2. Nice to have some backups in today's horrible situation. If your wife wants to commiserate with mine, just let me know. On better thought...

When my Mavic 3 Pro decided to flip over and dive into a river I was very glad I had not sold my older Mavic 3. Now that getting repairs is next to impossible I won't be selling anything - ever - until or if DJI re-enters the market. I am also flying my older drones as much as my newer just to decrease the odds of my Mav4 or Avata 2 doing something stupid :).
