Android Ipad 4 replacement

Well is the IOS version of dji go been immune to forced updates. If it isn't then, I to would like to know of a good andriod tablet that doesn't crash( shield is no longer available) .

I only have a 4th gen Ipad 9.7 which doesn't support dji go apps.

The best android Tablet is the Nvidia Shield K1 without a doubt!

I love these apple users who can not read the Android name anywhere and soon the envy is so great that they can not hold their fingers. They have an absurd need to tell everyone that in their limited opinion the android sucks and Apple is the ninth wonder in the world.
They lie blatantly saying that Apple devices do not give trouble even though it's possible to see threads with people complaining about iPhone issues.
These days I laughed a lot. A user asked for tips to solve his problems and in response they said that he should buy an iPhone because iPhones are infallible and the user replied that he was just using an iPhone !!!

No camera view on phone!
iPhone won't connect to Mavic. Help!
My Go4 Has Stopped Talking!
[HELP] Loss Of video in the App

Above, people complaining about problems with Apple devices and did not have to go far to find. There are hundreds, thousands around ...
Dji is in a comfortable position with this war because instead of the users getting together and complaining about better software they are at war one saying that the problem is the phone of the other!
The clear proof that the problem is of DJI is the fact that all softwares that use the API of DJI presents many problems !!! Looking at other applications that control drones from other companies we can see that DJI applications get the lowest grades and the biggest complaints!

DJI is in a comfortable position? You don't know how business operates do you? Of COURSE DJI wishes there were less problems on Android than iOS. And yeah, you put up a whopping FOUR examples of iOS ****. But, in reality is it harder to code for all the different Android OS's out there. This isn't opinion, it's fact.

I'm sure DJI would like to make everyone equally happy, but it isn't possible right now.

I second the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 T710. I've been flying with it for 6 months. No crashes, bright OLED display, thinner and lighter than the minipad, and fits in the controller like it was made for it.
I have the S2 sm-t713 Worked great until it upgraded to Nougat, now app shuts down every once in a while while flying...seems I have to figure out how to downgrade to Marshmallow...Frustrated...

One option is to root and install the Lineage ROM. It has been reported elsewhere that this ROM has stabilized the T713.

I went through a few different tablets, and realized that a tablet is nowhere near as powerful as a cell phone. This is why tablets can be purchased for $79 and cell phones are $500. So in order to find a tablet that had the horsepower that I wanted, I simply searched for the most powerful Android tablet and came up with the Huawei mediapad. It was not cheap, the 7-inch version was about $350 but it's absolutely Rock Solid and fits in the holder perfectly without any additional accessories. I did buy a couple of right angle USB cables to connect it which word shoot and work awesome. Everything fits in the case nicely and I have been using it for a year with no problem at all
Is that the M3 mediapad that you have?

Can only find the 713, not 710's anywhere

You can you just have to cache them. While you have internet open go and browse to the are you will be flying. They should cache for you. It works for me

Man this is a unusual thread
I'm assuming that everyone knows the crystal Sky runs Android Lolipop out of the box. A solution design specifically from the ground up to run DJI drones. It doesn't come with IOS nor do they do 2 versions of it one for each camp.
I have been running IOS devices on all my drones up until this got released.I have a mavic and an inspire2 I use the crystal sky 5.5 android with the inspire and I'm in the process of using the same device with my mavic.
This device contains nothing but the djigo4 app and the djigo app. It has no other stuff/garbage in here and nor will I put anything on it. Why would I, It works perfectly the screen is better than my iPad mini4 and my iPhone 7 plus the mounting bracket to remote is a beautiful bit of engineering using a USBC port the fastest port available having the best screen you can get etc
This is a no brainer
This is the only android device I own it doesn't have to sync with anything and nor will it ever.
It has built in wifi so all upgrades will be downloaded directly to the device

Yes, they are in a comfortable position because if users fought less with each other and complained directly to the competent DJI or organ then the pressure would be greater.
They continue to sell and the reputation of good product does not deteriorate because it is not their fault, but the devices used to control the equipment.
The funny thing about it all is that the app's iTunes Store rating is as low or lower than the Play Store.
What happens? Are IOS users not being truthful?
And another interesting thing is that other Drone manufacturers have applications with higher satisfaction ratings in both stores, both android and ios!
Android is more difficult to program? Perhaps! But it was not me who set up a company and set out to win this challenge. I also do not see this difficulty in programming for the android reflecting on user satisfaction.
At this very moment in the iTunes store the score is 2.1 and in the Play store the score is 2.7.
This seems to contradict the myth that IOS presents fewer problems.
Maybe the users just are not being so sincere ...

Right. I forgot that guys were saying that if u downgrade to earlier version it worked fine. I never got that far. Returned it to Amazon before guys started finding out that it would fix it.

BZZZT

Stop right there! :D

A typical android device was designed to run bucket loads of stuff and not be confined to one single app for one single use. It is a monitor as you say, for DJI stuff only. A pretty expensive addition to the mavic but no doubt of the highest screen quality there is.

Ok for anyone interested i set this up today and was not impressed by artifacting graphics displayed on screen and obviously then in googles. Stationary video was ok but when rotating the mavic some of the image was artifacting and looked useless.
I thought oh well now a i have a cheapo tablet to watch porn on.
But i went into USB debug and set GPU render forced to on and changed hdmi output res from 720 to 1080 and bingo she looks real sweet now.
More days of rain predicted here so maybe some time before test in the field but for now i am confident of Mavic FPV on the cheap. :)
For what its worth it was not designed for the Mavic otherwise they would have produced a mounting bracket accordingly it was designed for the inspire/Phantom series
Also the fact DJI chose to put no other APP's on it except a web Browser would tell you something about there intent
As for using it as my go to Tablet it would be a very impractical device for everyday use.It is not a refined, thin, easily held device. Its 50mm deep with half a mounting bracket attached, more ports than you can poke a stick at. It is Device specific and not a typical android device! The point I was making they chose an Android operating system which from where i currently stand and despite being an apple Fan seems to work very well
Time will Tell i guess

Well my memory informs me that DJI advertised the goggles and CS with and at the same time as the Mavic release as an accessory to the Mavic.
Well clearly your memory was wrong
Sep 27th 2016 was the press release for the Mavic and DJI googles all 49.26 mins of it and no where during that event do the mention nor show a crystal sky monitor operating with a Mavic or attached to a remote operating a a Mavic
The CS has a great screen various inputs over and above USB for out putting and inputting and also micro sd card slots that are accessible and can also record directly too a removable battery so you can buy an extra and just keep flying
One horse pony
Really!
Im assuming you own a crystal sky device?

Did you write the above?
DJI Rubbish!! Really!
so you don"t own one Hmmm
It must be rubbish then
It has multiple input and output options so of course it will plug into the Mavic
This thread is not about the Crystal Sky somewhere you lost that in translation.
It was about a guy wanting to use an Android device to fly his drone.
My suggestion was a CS, based on funnily enough, that it was an Android device (Go Figure) and secondly that it was a near perfect device for doing just that as DJI had made it with specific intent to do so and then manufactured a beautiful mount system to attach to "certain" remotes
Have a nice day:)

your a funny guy Masheen
Not sure if you are following anything else on this forum but there is debate going on all over the place in regards to how to attach a crystal sky to a mavic remote
So yeh I can cut and paste from the DjI website
The fact does remain the same, there are no options that DJI produce to achieve this but there are 3rd party options slowly coming on board so we could possibly put the above down to a misprint
The rumour is as rumours go that DJI may manufacture a mount in the distant future to bridge this deficiency
Its hard to listen to people bag hardware when they have no experience with it.
You probably hate Ferraris but you drive a Toyota. You don't like them because you don't have one
