I just literally received the box from FedEx and so excited. Opened the box, and inspect the drone, getting ready to charge the battery but when i started removing the stickers....

It's a freaking paint peeled off from the sticker on the gimbal! I paid the fly more combo. It's not fair for me. I haven't contacted DJI yet, about to in a few.

Anyone received minor defects?20210422_110428.jpeg.pending-1619710840-20210422_110622~2.jpeg

@Jhun80 ,personally i would not bother to change it for such a small paint defect ,i agree it should not have happened ,if you bought it from a local supplier then you could ask for an exchange as part of their returns policy ,but obviously if thats what you intend to do then dont register it with DJI till you have the new one in your possession

Yeah, can't imagine the hassle of returning and the waiting

I had a Mini 2 that came defective. I made the mistake of returning it to DJI rather than B&H, the retailer and it took 2 weeks to send it in to DJI and receive a replacement. They have to receive it, inspect it, put in for a replacement, make shipping label... yada yada... and 5 days of shipping in each direction. Had I knows B&H would have replaced it immediately and I'd have had 2 day shipping in both directions I'd have sent it back to them. Any chance you purchased it from an authorized dealer rather than DJI?

Possibly a silly question, but here goes. Are you sure it’s that it’s not residue from the adhesive on the label?

Looks like the paint from the gimbal is on the sticker, so was just bad adhesion.

Just to make it so you're not looking at it all the time in future, maybe drop by a model shop (kit aircraft etc) and get a little pot of suitable silver / lt grey paint.
There should be something close, just to disguise it.

That is obviously safe for plastics as the kit model planes, cars etc are all made of similar material.

A minor paint rectification ?
I doubt they'd be too worried, as it would add probably only what the tape took off, and it's probably not going to be relatable to a crash or whatever.

You can do such a touch up anytime in the future, so leave it for a while if you feel more at ease.
After a while you might get the odd scrape or two on it and not even be concerned any longer.

Nope, but it would annoy me as well. I would exchange with your retailer if that's an option.

Why the eff does DJI put stickers on the gimbal in the first place? What grand purpose do they serve? Such a stupid decision. The person who came up with this dumb idea needs to be whipped publicly.

anyway, rant over. OP, return the drone. Dumb packing decisions should have consequences haha

I think its for the gimbal cover protection? I'm not sure, but the gimbal cover has some lining inside already, so yeah, it doesn't make sense..

This is why I only by locally at retailers who give a 30-45 day exchange or return policy. No matter what happens, they always give an exchange without any questions asked. The taxes suck, but it's worth it.
