Depends. If there are many other 2.4GHz Wifi around you, you might get better range with 5.8GHz since they are fewer and have higher attenuation due to shorter wavelength. There is no universal answer. My observation is 5.8GHz gives you better range in urban areas, 2.4GHz gives you slightly...

You guys should get into Racers. If you fly racers, the Mavic Air feels pretty lame. I only use the Air for photo and video.

Does Mavic Air support RAW in Panorama Mode? Can it save DNG files when shooting panorama or just JPG? Thanks

OK, but my GoPro on my Racers come with the same or similar image processor. Not much heat or noise on idle. Still does't explain the high power consumtion just turned on to me.

I highly doubt that. My racers have significantly more power and significantly higher sensor rates than anything DJI but don't require extra cooling. I bet the "high performance computer capable of taking input from a large number of sensors and processing all of the information in real time"...

You can use Fake-GPS App on Android to switch to FCC. Easy. On iPhone, it don't work. But you can use iPhone, once you have activated FCC with Android.

Mavic Pro battery is much larger. Probably takes more time to reach critically low temperatures during flight? Maybe thinner plastic around the cells with the Mavic Air to save weight?

You gave the answer yourself: "Flew her in 5 degree Fahrenheit weather,..." Very low temperature, batteries internal resistance goes up, voltage drops under load (delta_U = R * I, Ohm's law, high internal resistance = high delta_U), Software thinks battery is empty because voltage is low...

It's harder to spy on people with a loud drone.
