Personally, I always do updates to my SC and MA2 via the Assistant app. I find the updates always run more consistently, although the actual update portion shouldn’t make any difference. I have a 1000Mbos internet connection, so the downloads go much faster.

My guess is the delay is caused by the Fly app being customized for the SC, not so much for the drone.

I always use the DJI Assistant app on my Mac to do the updates. The download is much faster and the update is very consistent with the USB connection. The whole process is much faster.

Go to Pgytech. I have been using their sun shade for the mini for a couple of years. It works great and doesn't get in the way.

I don’t think it had anything to do with your takeoff altitude. It was probably the sensors being confused with the reflection off the water. I think DJI recommends staying 20ft or more above water. It might decide to land instead of going up. I’m sure others with more experience can give more...

The ANDROID issue is important. I use my iPhone and iPad to fly, but I really want a Fly app for my Smart Controller which is ANDROID of course. I hope a fully functional SC version is released soon.

We are now almost 3 weeks past the release of the MA2 and no update for the SC. I know they need a new update to the Fly app, but why weren’t they working on that earlier?

I have 3 batteries for my Air 1 that are swollen. 2 are bad enough I don’t want to use them. All are 2 years old or less.

Has anyone heard any more from DJI about the firmware update for the SC? Last I heard was 2 weeks after the MA2 release. No mention at all on the DJI web site.
