how do i connect my controller the the aircraft ?

I have a Pro Platinum , purchased about six months ago . Do the the joystick levers come off my controller ? i tried to unscrew them but they don't seem to want to come off . Don't want to twist too hard , don't want to do any damage .

I have a picture of my Basic License/Certification on my phone , should i carry anything else ?

I need reading glasses to read or use my cell phone .I have to take them off to see distances or to drive. How is everyone doing this with the phone on the controller , i would need my glasses to see my phone , then would have to take them off to see the drone ? Getting old sucks !!!!
