Thanks Mike, I think I will just "power up" and check it out. Probably two or three times before I even try to take off!!

    Airspace laws in Canada

I would be fine with and insurance aroun $50 per year. Kinda makes sense anyway. I haven't really tried looking for an insurer yet. Might be interesting to see what they say.

Soon to be Mavic pilot! Hit me with your best tips!

I have to admit that I am still at the beginner stage, maybe even "beginner minus" but no real issues yet. I have had a couple of rough landings, no damage just not pretty. I have not tried any photography yet. I want my flying to be "second nature" so that I can focus a bit more on the shots...

    Messed up

Interesting, I am considering flying my Pro inside a warehouse. oer 100,00 sq ft and a 40 ft ceiling. Maybe I should lookd for one of these "Tello" drones.

    New Improved Gimbal Gaurd

I use one of the combination ones, from Amazon. Quite happy with it. I found that my fat fingers sometimes struggled to get the original correctly placed.

Hello from the west coast of Canada. Looking forward to seeing some interesting shots of the area around Moscow.

    Airspace laws in Canada

I can understand the potential need for insurance, of some sort, when flying drones. I just hope it doesn't become too expensive.

Newbie's thoughts after first 'Air holiday' (with film)

Well done. Choose the Mavic Pro myself, used much the same decision process though.

    Compass error results to nonGPS

Yes, that is correct. I read the manual and had the body in the correct position, but, in my haste I did not pay complete attention. I pointed it downwards and then rotated it on the same axis as in the first step. Which was incorrect. In the first step the Mavic wants to rotate on an...

    Compass error results to nonGPS

When I first had the error, I placed the little guy on the ground and rotated it 360 degrees. As it says in the manual. I simply picked it up a bit and spun it around using the battery button as the axis point. Then the manual says to point it "nose down" and rotate it 360 degrees. I spun it...

    Compass error results to nonGPS

Yes, I have changed my procedure. I am now doing it correctly!!! I read, and thought I understood, the procedure from the manual. But, since I do tend to overthink things, I made it more complicated than it was. I watched a couple of videos, posted by people here, slapped myself on the...

    Airspace laws in Canada

I also do not really have any problem with reasonable regulations. There undoubtedly needs to be some kind of regulation to keep people from being too obtrusive or annoying. I don't even mind the idea of some sort of insurance, as long as it is reasonable in price. After all, if I did happen...

    Updated Go4 app for Android

I have only done limited flights, but with three different Android devices. All three seem to have a lag in the video. No cell connection, no BT, Airplane mode. An S7, TAB A and a TAB S. OTOH, I haven't gone more than a couple of hundred feet.

    Compass error results to nonGPS

Thanks to BudWalker for that little dance. I consistently get "magnetic interference" and weak GPS. Even though my phones, GPS units have no trouble. The compass will calibrate, now that I have it figured out. I had a similar experience to Ekto. I had a 'brain fart' regarding the axis.
