Sorry for bringing this subject up again. I realise that the previous post was closed due to some bad feelings creeping in.
My reason for posting is that I currently have the air 3 S with the 4G dongle 2 fitted and working well.
I really want to get the M3P with the RC2 Pro controller, but I don't want to shell out £3200, and find I can't get the enhanced transmission to work, even though others have by sticking with the "out of the box" firmware. I'd rather wait for the official firmware update from DJI for the drone once.
I believe that RED Notified Body approval is the final step
The radio (dongle + drone) must pass testing by a Notified Body under the EU’s Radio Equipment Directive (RED). is what is holding things up. Until that certification is issued, DJI cannot distribute compliant (CE‑marked) firmware enabling the 4G function in the UK/E U

The purpose of this post is that if anyone is aware of this final step being completed, and the availability of the appropriate firmware for the drone, then they can let us all know! šŸ™
And I'm my case order the M4PšŸ™
Again, sorry for bringing the subject up again 🫣

Thank you @Puppy59 for bringing this subject up again. Actually, I was about to do it too. In my case, I already purchased the M4P with RC2 Pro and I’m looking forward to the 4G dongle-compatible firmware being released.

Cheers! Great minds think alike šŸ‘šŸ˜‚
Are you you able to use it with the original firmware at the moment?
Unfortunately, no — updating my Mavic 4 Pro to the latest firmware was the first thing I did, as I wasn’t aware of the 4G dongle issue at the time.

I have an Air 3S and didn’t realise that enhanced transmission is available and works in the UK.

What network SIM card do you use in it?

4G flying is a must for me as I'm disabled and don't get out of the house very often, so I had to find out if the dongle works on the M4P. I started off using ChatGPT, which lead me to this forum. My network is Vodafone, fortunately I have great coverage in my area. šŸ‘

Actually, I have also an Air 3 with a RC2, so I could temporarily reallocate the RC2 to the Mavic Air 4 and the RC Pro 2 to the Air 3. šŸ˜‰
Go for it! šŸ‘Œ
As I said before I have the air 3 S, so I could do the same, but I really want the pro controller to work with M4P, and I'm not prepared to buy it until I know everything will work, without the need find workarounds 🤷

As mentioned in the previous posts. 4G will work on your Mavic 4 Pro if your Drone is on the 0.0000 Firmware. If it is updated, you can downgrade the drone FW using drone hacks app for windows and download the FW from Dank downloader site. The RC2 and Fly app can be on the latest FW. Dji has locked the RC Pro 2 to work on 4G for any drone outside of Chine. From my conversations with them, it was a mistake to close it for the Air 3 etc and should be fixed at a later FW update which might open up for the Mavic 4 at the same time. Lots of people say the Dji is awaiting approval in the EU for the Mavic 4 Pro to work on 4G so we will need to wait and see if that happens. But for now, only RC2 and Mavic 4 can work on 4G.

Thanks for summing up the current situation šŸ‘I had a chat with DJI this morning, attached is a snippet of what was said! As you can see the EU bodies which deal with these matters "did not approve with the RC or the drone" . Make of that what you will 😳
When I pressed them on the matter, they suggest I contact the EASA/CAA myself, so I did and await a response!
