Air 3 S v's M4P battery life

Can anyone who has moved from the Air 3 S to the M4P share your thoughts on the battery performance of 2 drones (ie better, worse, the same) ?

Many thanks!
Battery performance? What specifically are you referring to, that you are asking about? How are you quantifying or measuring battery performance?

It's a simple matter to compare the specs.
Max flight time
Air 3S - 45 minutes
Mavic 4 pro - 51 minutes

Both are measured under laboratory conditions:
Measured by the aircraft flying forward at a constant speed of 32.4 kph in a windless environment at sea level, with Obstacle Avoidance Action set to Brake, in photo mode, and from 100% battery level until 0%.

Going from Air 3S to Mavic 4 the battery flight time is better compared to Air 3S but not a whole lot more. The Air 3S was a much lighter drone when compared to the Mavic 4 Pro. I get roughly about 38 minutes in the air landing at 20% more or less. Noting that in NZ it is almost always windy.

General real life flight time. I know what the manufacturers say about the official times, but we all know these are #ullshi# compared to the real world experience.
I'm interested for example, from your first handful of flights, did you think "wow its so much better" or think it's about the same or what ever?

I guess what I'm asking is will I notice any difference?

Thank you, this is exactly

the answer that I was looking for 👍
I recall you posted a picture on the previous 4G dongle thread (now closed) of your controller, showing distance travelled 9449m and 49%battery left. I recently flew my air 3 S about 7500m with 49% battery left, the flight was against a very light head wind, and I got back with 20% battery left.
Your result seems like a good improvement! 1000003118.jpg

The published specs aren't about "real world experience" because everyone's real world experience is different.
The specs are so you can compare models against each other, knowing how they perform under exactly the same conditions.
If you know that the Mavic 4 pro can fly for 6 minutes longer than the Air 3S under laboratory conditions, that's all you need to know.

I have both drones and although I know its part perception and part true, the MP4 battery definitely lasts longer under similar flying conditions; although haven't run down either drone battery below 15%, I feel I can get at least 5-7 minutes more flying with the MP4 under similar conditions, up to a month ago. These days the wind blows harder and although either drone stays rock solid, it is bound to impact run time on both drones with the drone working harder; I always fly in N mode.

A3S rated 45mins in practice equates to 30-35 mins
MP4 rated51mins in practice equates to 35-40 minutes (I can't verify the top end since most of my flights have been around the 30 min max mark)
In summary, yes the MP4 battery lasts just that much longer and can be felt with extended flying times or remaining battery indicator.
