After going through all this mess with the Mavics 4K issues, I've finally found a good workflow:

1. It starts with filming in 2.7K, ISO100, 60-120fps using an ND16 filter, sharpness +1 contrast -1, saturation -1, color profile ART.

2. I've colorgraded the footage using mLUT from motionvfx.

3. I've reduced the GOP effect and removed existing noise with NeatVideo using the profile specifically created for the Mavic "The Film Poets"

It results in two versions both to my total satisfaction in terms of picture quality

Beautiful. As you said, either one is totally acceptable
I was watching them both synchronized as close as I could and when seeing them side by side, I think overall I prefer the Buddha Edit more even though the shadows were a bit deep. IMHO, something right in the middle of these 2 edits would be superb.
Either one is a winner.

Thanks. I thought making a 3rd one but then with much cooler/blue colors "Oblivion" style
