Anyone successfully using cheap android tablet with 1.2.4 Fly app

Quite a few people on the forum are using it. The Samsungs are nice but most of them don't have a built in compass.
The Tab S3 does, so I can't see why later model Tab S series wouldn't.

My old tab E didn't, but it was horrible all around even with Go. Something Samsung has on it soon blocks the USB connection during bootup.

The compatibility list is BLah
I'm a bit late in replying but I have a Huawei 8 inch MediaPad M5 lite which cost me €150. It has 3 of GB RAM and works well with my M2Z and my Mini 2.

Looks good for the price, do you have any issues with the app crashing after recording the video cache to the tablet and does it have Any effect not having a barometer sensor on the tablet just to help with my comparisons,

I guess you're talking about the list from DJI. Have you looked over the list from CultOfDrone? It lists compatible and more importantly devices that are incompatible as well. The comment section is also a good read as people report what other devices work as well.

I've had no problems with the Go 4 or the Fly app crashing but I rarely record to the video cache as it is low quality. I just use the recordings on the SD card. You do not need a barometer on the tablet to fly drones. The barometer is in the drone itself.

Yes I wasn't sure about the barometer so I decided to check out the specs on the approved devices and they all seem to have them but as you say the barometer will be in the drone. The tablets sounds like the sort of price I am looking for and above all it is still available new in the UK

The most important thing is that it has enough RAM to handle the DJI Fly app. I tried a cheaper tablet with less RAM and it could not handle the Intelligent Flight modes. My Huawei MediaPad M5 does handle them ok and the screen is quite good. I don't think you will find anything better at this price but just make sure you get the 3 GB RAM version. I bought mine thanks to my friend who is a IT specialist and knows all about tablets, phones etc.

Just seen this one on eBay 10 inch 4 gig ram Huawei Media Pad M5 Lite 10.1” | eBay

That's correct. It does have GPS. The mini 5 appears to have a compass but no GPS (WiFi model). Not having a compass doesn't seem to be a problem. What problem do you see with it? I couldn't find a small inexpensive tablet with both GPS and a compass.
