I hope I am raising this in the right place but as a relatively new Mavic A2 pilot (long in the tooth Spark pilot) should I be updating my Fly app to the new 1.5.0? Also I have not jumped into iOS 15 yet. Should I do the whole lot together? Also, where do I find details of what 1.5.0 offers/changes from 1.4.12-eg I have found out about disabling sideways flight the hard way after a brush with some gulls the other day! All ended well, birds unharmed and drone back home.

@twickers14 the decision to update your device is really a personal one ,for me i have always updated my IOS phone and I Pad and personally have never had any issues with doing so
likewise i have always kept my DJI Apps up to date ,and of course the firmware for the drone as well

I updated to FlyApp 1.5.0 for Android - but it is mainly for the Mavic3 when I pulled it up. What DJI did versus 1.4.8.XX - you would have to look up on DJI's website to find out all that.

I don't always immediately do the FlyApp, but do the drone firmware when it says there is one. My Android updates itself, so I don't even typically know or mess with that part of the system. As long as FlyApp works on my Android tablet - I'm good. No longer use my phone for a screen.

Thanks for this. Will follow your advice. I too am a great believer in app updates in general so will go ahead.

I noticed @ the DJI Download Center, the 1.5.0 version is only for newer devices. They removed some of the legacy devices. I have a Samsung S9 - it is no longer on the list. So, I'm guessing the 1.4.12 is as far as I go unless I upgrade my device.

Also I have not jumped into iOS 15 yet.
There are many reports of bugs with iOS 15 (more so than with previous new versions). Take a look here for information about the latest version at the time of writing - iOS 15.1:

You may be lucky and be unaffected by them but if you don't need any of the new features, Apple is still issuing security updates for iOS 14. I'm holding fire on iOS 15 until a stable version arrives which seems to be bug-free (or at least as bug-free as possible).

Thanks for that tip, Prop Wash. I’d missed it. My iPhone 6s is now not on the recommended list. When I clicked the “older versions” link, I was offered a download of v1.1.10
