Batteries losing charge when not in use

Suggesting to read the manual and showing where it can be obtained (as long as given in a polite way) is not insulting.
I‘ll remove that last line, it’s not the point I’m trying to make. Polite is great and I agree with you, but going into a lecture about reading a manual is not. Neither are the “I can’t believe people don’t read...” posts. I’m new to droning. I was excited about this forum. I do learn from it. But because of something one of the “experts” said early to me, I won’t post anymore questions. My skin isn’t as thick as some. I just PM people who seem polite.

I know more than a few people who spend $20,000 plus on a car and never read the manual. SHAME!

Full disclosure: I read the manual but did not retain the battery discharge fact. There is a lot of info there. I had the same question as the OP when my batteries dropped to 60% after a week. I went back and found it. I understood more when I read about it from a third party source online. I wait and charge my batteries the day before I fly now instead of right after I fly.

Obviously, just watching YouTube videos or reading posts on a website isn’t working. Most new owners don’t even know there are online manuals out there. So telling someone and showing them a link to the manuals is probably the best advice they can get. Not everything that’s in the manual is on YouTube.
That’s true, there is a lot in the manual. But things in the manual aren’t explained that well either. So asking a question here is a great way to have someone share what they know isn’t it?

So let’s say you own a CRV. You know I also own one. So you ask me, “What’s that green light on the dash mean?” I reply, “It’s in the manual, read it”...or...”I can’t believe you spent $30,000 on a new CRV and didn’t read the manual.” You might think I was a bit of a weed. Especially if you’d heard that from five other people the same day.

Hopefully my point is well received and not insulting. I apologize to anyone if I’ve somehow offended. I‘m just offering food for thought, I’m done on the subject.

For all non educators: learning styles very from person to person. It’s part of being human. While some learn quickly by reading text, others need more pointed instruction. Some learn by hearing. I’m an educator, but I learn by being shown, so I always look for videos on the topic. In a nutshell I’m saying give the “read the manual” comments a rest. Just my opinion As an educator.
I completely comprehend what you are saying, and yes everyone does learn differently. It does not take an 'educator' to understand that but rather common sense.

Keep in mind, people have at minimum an obligation to fully read the manual and understand how the drone functions and it's features before even flying, not only for the safety of themselves, but for others, property, etc. This drone is not a toy and requires a certain level of responsibility to fly.

The concept of the batteries discharging itself is not a difficult one to understand where someone would need further clarification but rather a simple feature, so to make excuses about this is irrelevant. The real issue here is the lack of effort being put forward to reading the manual and understanding how the drone functions.

Let's not promote recklessness and laziness but rather encourage people to spend a few minutes reading the manual and understand how the drone and it's features work. If they require further clarification, then that's what this forum is for.
