Good day folks, I am having a trouble right now. I bought a Drone (mini 3) a year ago. I bought it brand new and I used it occasionally for a year until I decided to sell to someone. But to my surprise the Drone was "already bound to another account" so I rushed to contact the DJI Local Store where I bought it a year ago. But, it was no luck from them. They told me that they cannot unbind it for me and only the DJI Support can.

My Question: WILL THE DJI SUPPORT REALLY CARES AND TAKE ACTION ABOUT IT?
- I HAVE MY PROOF OF PURCHASE OF OWNERSHIP stating that I bought it Brand new from the DJI local store (Authorized Dealer of DJI)

Does anyone know how to determine or show the complete email address of the person the Drone was bonded to? so that I may contact and send Email to that person?

How could it be bound to another account if you purchased it brand new and registered it with your DJI account? Or is there more to the story?

That's not possible.

How about the action of the DJI support? Will they unbind the account for me? I hate this! But according to them, the Drone I bought could have been bonded with a test account.... how's that? They even suggested requesting a replacement unit from the DJI store where I bought it.. but as I talked to the Store manager, they didn't recognize the fact that it was their staff's error for not removing the test account from it.

NO They will not.

Then you have ownership of the DJI account and you can contact DJI. Once contacted DJI will send you a 3 digit number that will allow you to change the password of your account. That's it. DJI will do no more than that.

Was this purchased as an open box item? This is HIGHLY unusual A DJI authorized dealer would NOT sell you a bound Drone!
P.S. There is no such thing as a "test" account.

Sigh! o_O

This thread reminded me I forget to provide feedback on the recent threads about this topic. Instead of commenting right away, I decided to take a couple of my drones and go thru the binding process again just to make sure I understand how it works and see if anything has changed. It wasn't easy but I'll post my results over there shortly.

This posting will explain that nothing will happen for you now and why... But as others have pointed out, what is the rest of the story?

@Cafguy,

I think the "test account" is the thought of an employee using it, which would be related to an open box scenario?

Rod ..

@iAmJD,

"I bought it brand new and I used it occasionally for a year until I decided to sell to someone. But to my surprise the Drone was "already bound to another account""

So, You never had bound it?

Rod .

Clarify.
Sounds like you have it bound to your account (since you've been using it), now you sold it and the new owner is saying it's bound to another account.
I.e. you have to go into the DJI Fly app and remove the drone from your account so the new owner can use it.

If it was bound to another user, how were you able to use it at all during that time?

If you're referring to the store where you purchased the drone, you should contact them and ask them to unbind it from their test account. DJI accounts don't just disappear. They should still have access to any accounts they use for testing.

Lets say for instance an employee took the Drone out and Played with it (tested).... Every DJI authorized dealer I know would give you another Drone and relieve you of the headaches. IF it was purchased with them in that condition.

Look at this Reply from the DJI support team.. they give this statement means they are doing this "Test Accounts" on their drones.. I bought it brandnew from the dealership and I don't know what happen, all I know was I was ask to give them my email activate it, they never told me to bind it. I just found out about it 3 days ago. Thats more than a year now since I bought it, and I never did went to that menu on my RC.

I hope this would be the action they will do in my case.. but the problem was, they are telling me now that the one who assisted me that day has already resigned and they don't know the details about it.

Here's what DJI told me about this "test account".

Was it wrapped in clear cellophane? Because if not, it was not purchased new it was used. Your Drone Ownership begins The second you take the clear cellophane off the box. If it was purchased in the unwrapped condition They should refund you.

I did this.. but the problem was, they keep on telling me to contact the DJI support team. No actions after that. Dji support is giving me update but the way they speak looks like I was just waiting for no luck process. No guarantee.

Yes..... I don't know either, Until now i can use it with no issues and so on, i was able to change and log in my dji account and my friend's account in too. But when I go to device maneger it says "Already bound to another account"....

Im confused too.. i used it no problem at all.

Did you make a new account?

It was, but the moment of setting it up I leave the store to withdraw more cash for about 10 mins i guess.. then I went back to the store, and they accompanied me outside the store to test the drone and thought me how to use it.

I leave for a while thinking it all is well and they will no do anything stupid. But, after a year here I am, puzzled if they really messed with me.
