Buy from Aliexpress?

Aliexpress has the Pro 2 controller for about $950. Is that legit? Has anyone bought from them before?
I saw that, along with all the Mini 5 Pro drones popping up there for super low prices. It's AliExpress, someone has to take one for the team. You don't know until you know. Sorry I can't help, I paid a little more and dealt with someone safer on eBay but this one you gotta give it some time to know for sure. The drone market is super rife with scammers and the prices are all over the board so it's always buyer beware. Unlike the other platforms, we just don't know any of the sellers, we don't know where they are located or where they ship from, we don't know who they ship with, what does "free returns" mean, if there are fees/tariffs, we don't know what to believe as far as rating, feedback, and what seems to be so popular with Ali...shipped from the United States.

Well...you just talked me out of it. :-)

I have ordered from them several times without any issues.

Can see the logic of buying local, but can also say I've bought assorted drone bits from them with no issue? Recent craze of mine is RC cars - must have spend 100's in them (shhhh, don't tell BH - she knows 😁). Several times the items have been under-declared at their end, to minimise/eliminate duties (fine by me 😉). The bigger issue for me seems to be last-mile/local delivery - stuff gets ordered at great price, travels half way round the world in 1-2 weeks, then gets snarled up another week or more locally 👿. Returns/refund process (only ever invoked a few times) good, they even credit you if item gets delayed. Personally, I would recommend them, YMMV.

I don't hate Ali and I have been known to buy from them in the past, same with Temu. Ok for little things, inexpensive stuff; no worries.

It's risk free on a credit card. Wrong, defective, or no product, you charge it back.
Nothing on the internet is risk free; chargebacks are not promised to everyone.

That's being said, I agree the risk is low (not zero) and because the Ali "deals" are so compelling for BF, I thought I would take that risk and give it a try. Will report later....

I’ve bought hundreds of drone parts from Ali Express. Free returns are very easy. I buy from Amazon “local” if available. Those shipping times on Amazon that are 2-4 weeks, are just people buying from Ali, jacking up the price, and reselling. Sometimes I’ll get Ali Packaged parts from Amazon sellers that stock up so the shipping times are only a couple days. Keep in mind, 99 out 100 drone parts on Ali are used. Beware of gimbals, gimbal motors.
Here’s a phantom yaw motor I got from Amazon this week. Binding rusted piece of trash. Never know what you will get even from an 5 star seller. All used drone parts are a risk to buy. Shop smart!

I happened to be browsing Temu yesterday, and noticed what it first appeared to be ads for various DJI products at crazy low prices. But read them very carefully often it was a picture of a drone or a whole fly more combo in a case, but if you read the words carefully they’re just selling the case.

Yeah I saw that too. For now, no drones to buy on Temu. Only cheap accessories and you're more likely to get shipments from the US than from China on Temu whereas on Ali, you'll probably have to settle for China shipments. Right now, the discounts are really huge on both, it's hard to ignore.

I have bought a ton of stuff from them, never a problem other then having to wait for delivery. Something that needed return was never a problem unlike the USA firms that BS you to try this or that or just reject your return. If its cheaper then homeland then I go that way. No need to pay extra because of you know who.

Yeah, that seems to be the only thing; a little longer to get the product. But...so what? I bought the 240W adapter for half price, so I'll wait a little longer. Worth it.

After reading these two articles, I decided to give Ali products with the Brand+ label a shot with a bigger order than just a few ordinary accessories.
