Clear for take off

If I am in a area where I want to fly and I use b4ufly app and the app says clear for take.off do I need faa clearance ?

Short answer is no. But the land you are on may have governmental oversight that may restrict take-off or flight over that area (so be careful). B4UFly and ALoft may not show these restrictions. There was a discussion on another thread about this just last week. I tried to find it. Hope this helps . . .
