Hello everyone. Hope you're all well. I love my Mavic Air. Great times and amazing videos/images from all over the world.

Used the drone a couple of days ago. Everything was fine.

Today the ambient temperature was about 15 degrees C (or about 60 F).

Turned the unit on and then

  • Data controller error message, shortly followed by
  • Chip temperature too high unit will shutdown in 30 seconds
Other background:

  • It said I had outstanding updates to make, but I've flown for the last few weeks with these same messages with no issues.
SO, what do you think?

  • How do I clean the internal fan? How do I get the casing off, or
  • Might it be something else altogether?
Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Charley from Toronto and take care.

Oh, for fun. I'm posting one of his (nickname is "Thorlito") recent pictures of a farm field.

Problem solved. I gently took the plastic cover off the top body. Carefully turned the fan blade. It was a little stuck. Blew some air on it for a few seconds. Gently turned it again and it was now freely spinning. Fan is back operating and able to cool the unit. Back up and flying!

Great stuff..
