DJI drone insurance - Is Coverdone an alternative to DJI Care refresh

Hi Everyone

I have ordered on Amazon an DJI Mini 3.
And I would like to insure it against damage and fly-away.

I asked for a quote to Coverdrone, and it is cheaper than DJI Care Refresh.
I guess that the diff of prices is based on differences on coverage, but I could not find them.
Based on your experience, especially if you have subscribed Coverdrone, or if you did the comparison, what is your opinion ? Are there drawbacks with Coverdrone ?

Next if I chose DJI Care, is there a time limit beyween subscription and date of buy ? And Is it an issue if the drone was bought in Amazon.

Sorry for all those questions, but I prefer to ask before .

Notable differences which I find may be important but not well-known are generally you can buy Care up to 2-years at a time in advance for a slight discount. At the end of 2 years, you should be able to extend it one more year. In the event you do not file a claim one of those years, your manufacturer's warranty is also extended by one year generally.

In order to claim fly-away, you must bind your drone to the controller. After you activate your drone, you only have 24/48/72 hours (I forget) to purchase Care (drama-free, no questions) before that window closes and then you switch over into another mode where you will need to submit a video verification to DJI to get Care. It's easy to do, there is no set time-limit, all drones qualify no matter their age (as long as Care is available for that model) and you get the same coverage (plus a renewal) meaning you can wait 1, 2, or 3 years to take out Care; however, one Care program per drone lifetime (one and done for the second hand drones).

Care applies to every authentic DJI drone model (with one notable exception for now) but only applicable for the country in which it is purchased (i.e. don't buy drones from Brazil and except to get Care in Germany). It is not an international service plan. DJI Care is a comprehensive service plan (not just an insurance policy) which means you should supplement your insurance and covers pretty much everything everywhere and has several additional perks like speedy service and drone replacement (in lieu of repair). Oh, and they won't cancel you or raise your rates if you make a claim. Definitely highly recommended. HTH

This is not the first time ,I crashed my Air 3s into Lake Shawnee in Western Pa ,I was running from two large water birds near a bridge with poer lines running along side ,so I punched the UP stick to avoid birds in doing so I hit a power line then promply went down into a 30 foot channel ,I contcted DJI and with the DJI CARE FRESH PROGRAM they promply sent me a new replacement that came in the mail today for a nominal fee along with a battery a full set of props and a DJI ball cap .when it was all said and done subtracting the price of battery and props the drone it self cost all of $ 50 bucks .It don't get much better than that

I cannot overstate how awesome DJI Care Refresh has been to me over the years, every time I've needed them they were prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. I would never want to deal with the hassles of an insurance company over this, it's actually reasonably priced all considering and worth every cent to me.

But given the shaky status of Chinese drone companies, are they still going to be able to offer the service in the US?

I thought they did repairs in the US but do they all go to China and get returned here?

Right, they still do all their repairs here, mine always go to Texas. This is still a valid question as I think they're concerned with ensuring they can ship all the parts/replacements they need. When I talked to support last they said they were having issues souring Mavic 4 Pro parts in the US.
