DJI Mavic 4 Pro still not available in the U.S. - Kinda....

US residents, if you manage to buy a drone from here, you can rest assured you are not getting a grey market or black market DJI drone but an official drone.

Hint: Both Adorama and B&H as well as the NYC store are on the US authorized list.

yikes!...the Mav 4 fly more combo with just the RC2 is $3549 at Adorama. If you want the RC Pro 2 it's $4649. Pretty spendy

looking thru the prices at Adorama and B&H, there have definitely been significant price increases

The combo Mav 3 Pro with Pro controller runs $3800 or so. I expected an increase in price and figured $4200 if there was no big tariff issue and decided that $4500 (or so) would be my limit so I don't see the BH video price (which I put on pre-order knowing it was probably a pipe dream) entirely out of line and certainly not reflecting a huge tariff. We'll see if things get evened out, as I hope they do. At some point BH Video will probably send an email telling everyone their pre-order no longer exists. They have done that in the past for other vaporware products.

My new controller is on backorder from Adorama for the original $1299 price plus a hundred sales tax. I wonder if that will still be the case if they get more

I doubt it very much. Until the tariff thing is figured out we are embargoed.

The other big question is will it be covered under warranty/refresh from these three venders. The last word from DJI was it will not.
It's a sure sign the few that were sold were meant for a different market. I bought a Pro Controller from the 'dji store' but it turns out that just means it's a dji product...the store was not DJI and DJI did not warranty it even during the first year because it was not meant for the US market. People that got the Mav4 Pro are lucky but they better stay lucky as I don't -think- they will have any warranty. Not sure on that at all but I won't be buying until I am sure I am getting a Mav4 with a warranty (I just replaced my Mav3 Pro using fly away...). I'm guessing it may actually be another couple of years...

I think you are probably right. There won't be a fast return to normal. It will take some time and there is certainly some volatility coming out of Washington DC

I suppose a person can get insurance. I have a $60/year policy that covers up to $5000 in loss. I have a Mavic 3 insured fro full replacement cost and the replacement is a Mavic 3 Pro because DJI has discontinued the Mav 3

But it's with State Farm and I've been insuring with them for decades. There are other options but they appear more slanted toward business drone operations with the bulk of premiums covering liability

I live in Canada, and I received my Mavic 4 Pro Fly More Combo a week ago, I was going to buy the Creator Combo but it has not shipped to Canada yet. I have now purchased the accessories that I want except for the ND filters as no one has them available. I purchased the RC2 Pro controller a must, the 240W charger that I highly recommend as it charges the batteries super-fast even off my power bank in my car. I also purchased the two-year Care coverage. Because of all the rain we have had here on south Vancouver Island I have only had two days that I could fly. The first day I shot in D-Log M and was very pleased with the video quality. Yesterday I shot in 6K and was blown away by the picture quality. If you buy the DJI 4 Pro you won’t be disappointed. For all you Americans I hope that the Mavic 4 Pro is available to you in the near future.

This was an intentional move by DJI to "create pain" from the consumer market to pressure our elected reps, every other product they have is available to buy through other vender and directly from DJI.

For some DJI products, it took DJI time to "re-structure" the product configuration to flow smoothly into the US. Given time, we may see the same for the Mavic 4 Pro. While all DJI products are on some sort of government list, it appears the drones have the hardest time and have the most scrutiny and because of the high price point of the M4P, there's more risk when the shipment gets intercepted as opposed to an Osmo Action 4. While I believe this move was intentional, I don't believe it was nefarious.
