Immediately after I downloaded the .exe file to a folder on an external HDD, Norton informed me that it is safe. But then, during installation, I got the following warning that the driver may "harm" my computer or "steal information." I abandoned the installation, pending receipt of DJI's response. Comments?

Update: DJI's rep states this is normal but after accepting the install I should be sure to turn my privacy settings back on.

Its just because your PC perceives that the driver wasn't signed by Microsoft. Google will tell you more.

I would suggest searching using the name of the exe file referenced in your previous entry regarding the installation.

Thanks for the reply.

I've checked the articles on Simmo's link. It appears my problem is that I have not been regularly updating Win 7 -- and never will -- so I do not have the latest drivers.

Given that no one has complained of a problem with "harm" or stealing info, is there any reason I cannot simply ignore the warning and proceed to installation?

With no malice or harm intended, I would proceed mate.....Good luck!! Enjoy!

That thing uses libusb, aa is. Sure, they could have signed it properly, but do you really care?

Jusy FYI, libusb is a generic USB driver allowing a programmer to do your entire low level USB code in user mode, which is rather convenient, compared to coding your own driver. Its opensource, and widely used.
