Hello
After reading some threads here about problems requiring possible replacement and those appeared to originate in USA or Canada and that the owners had to send the parts back to DJI in USA I am wondering if I would need to send parts back to USA if I encounter a failure.

Has anyone in Australia ever had failures requiring repair and or replacement? If so where did you have to return to and how long did it take?

DJI has a good service centre in Melbourne, but issues requiring service are pretty rare.

The service centre is in Keysborough Melb...I must say the process was really ez and quite quick. Lodge a case with online tech support , they email you a prepaid letter, package it up and take to post office...Only issue I had was the poor packaging on the return drone...my gimbal cover came adrift in transsit due to lack of bubble wrap.

Thanks but I have heard bad comments about non genuine DJI props. Do you personal experience with non genuine props.

I wasn't suggesting non-DJI props.
You can buy genuine parts from non-DJI sources.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. It was just because I had already checked Ebay (Australia) and could only find those listed as 'unbranded' so obviously not genuine.

You send to the country where you registered your drone. If you buy in Australia, so send to DJI service centre in Australia. If you travelled overseas, and crashed your drone, you would have to wait till you get back to Australia and send to service centre in Australia. It’s all tied to your home address. And since DJI pays for the shipping cost, they are not going to pay for international shipping.
There are plenty of shops selling DJI drones, so they should also be selling props too. One of their authorized dealers is D1Store. There are a few of them around the country in big shopping centers. Not sure Apple sells props, but they do sell DJI drones.

There’s supposed to be a DJI Australia. I just wonder why send to USA?

There is a shop in Roseville Sydney that service DJI products, i think they do warranty work there as well.

Thanks everyone
"I just wonder why send to USA? " At the time I posted that I could only find DJI in the USA. I haven't yet purchased so had no idea. Just trying to ensure myself that everything, including after sales service, will be great.
I will probably purchase from Harvey Norman but they don't list props or batteries only drones. Same for JBHiFi.
I live in the Blue Mountains limited to where I want to travel.
Thanks Iannes for the suggestion of Rise Above. Their shipping charges are less than DJI.

Does anyone know of any 'drone' clubs in Sydney especially Blue Mountains or Western suburbs?

I'd call Camera House in Penrith to see if they have them

Props can be got at Harvey Norman or JB hifi. The stores I have seen definitely stock them.
D1 store is also a DJI specialist supplier and are in multiple states now. I use them for everything and have found them to be well priced , reliable and just good to work with.

I just came home from my local JBHiFI store which had the AIR (1) props but not the AIR 2 props so maybe it depends on the store as they list the AIR 2 drone on their web site but my local store did not have them. Phoned local HarveyNorman and they don't keep them but will get them in.
Checked out D1 stores and ordered there. Cheaper shipping than with DJI and had stock of guard whereas Rise Above have them on back order. I chatted online with D1 person (Cameron) who was extremely helpful.
Thanks again.

Hi I had great support from Melbourne DJI shop , they sent me a return address with postage paid repaired my Drone and it returned to me without any cost .

Sounds like the way things should be. Was it a claim under warranty? What went wrong and how long did the repair take? Sounds like a good company to deal with.

First I was only interested to have my drone repaired and was ready to pay for it by my self but after assessment they repaired the drone without cost to me , it had something to do with mother board Happy with the outcome , I can only suggest to all drone people to by from DJI direct ,it is a lot easier to get something repaired . Cheers

That is great to read. DJI must be a customer focussed company. Was your drone out of warranty?
